Ms. Neela Suri

Ms Neela Suri passed out from the Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow University with a Gold Medal. She also got a Silver Medal in Hindi. She then did her Bachelor of Education in the Central Institution of Education in Delhi where she stood in second position in the University Examination. She taught at the Convent of Jesus and Mary School in Pune.

Her career has included several leadership positions in prestigious institutions including the Airforce Middle School, Pune, Loreto Convent School, Delhi, Cathedral and John Connon School, Mumbai, and St Johns School, Chandigarh.

Her academic publications include the very popular Macmillan Guide to ICSE Survey Maps. She also co-authored with Mr Gilbert Bose several Self Study books on Shakespeare’s works for the benefit of students of Literature in English. These include As You Like It, The Merchant of Venice, and Julius Caesar.

Her literary works include her delightful little book entitled, Stories for a Grandchild.

Ms Suri and Mr Bose were both mentors to Dr Rajeev Kishen. In fact, the idea of New Millennium School was first instilled in Dr Rajeev Kishen’s mind at the impressionable age of fourteen at Ms Suri’s apartment.

Ms Suri has been an active member of the School Board, stepping in upon the demise of Mr Gilbert Bose and she has helped to develop the Geography Lab for the School.

We wish to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt thanks to Ms Neela Suri for her invaluable contribution to the very idea of the School and thereafter to its growth.




Cherry Burke Ojha grew up in Allahabad where she went to St. Marys School and Intermediate College after which she attended the Allahabad University where she won several awards and earned a degree in English Literature, Philosophy and Education. She also represented the University in radio play and drama at the first All India Youth Festival in New Delhi when she was selected to meet the then Prime Minister, Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri and the President of India, Sri Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.


Later she did a post-graduate degree in English from Madras University and added to that several teaching qualifications including B.Ed and CELTA with Cambridge ESOL University.


She has served as Principal of premier ICSE schools. She took over as Principal of New Millennium School at a critical juncture when the School sought ICSE recognition and saw it through. She wrote the School Song. She has written and published several e books on Creative Writing and Structural English for the benefit of students everywhere. Together with Dr. Rajeev Kishen they are bringing out several books in English Literature for ICSE students.


In 2015 she was named one of twenty Woman Achievers of Bangalore and Beyond.
